What do you associate with Romania? The answers received from the participants prior to this years' EUSTORY youth academy ranged from "Carpathian mountains", "Black Sea" and "Transylvania's Dracula" on the one hand via "Nicolae Ceausescu" towards keywords like "safety" and "corruption" in a country at the verge of joining the European Union. The colleagues from the DRIFI Association - EUSTORY's partner organization in Romania - introduced their country to the young historians by confronting them with the question of "Multiple cultures and civilizations: blessing or threat?" Some of the impressions the 16 award winners from nine national EUSTORY history competitions in Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Russia, Romania, Slovak Republic and Slovenia gained during the week they spent in Bucharest and Sighisoara you can find here
