- Swedish
Eustory (Svenska Eustory) was founded in 2008 in co-operation with the
Swedish History Teacher’s Association and the project is sponsored by
Riksbankens Jubileumsfond.
The Swedish History Teacher’s Association was founded 1940 and has since then been an active part of the Swedish educational debate. We have about one thousand members, spread all over the country. The prime goal for the organisation is to promote the conditions for history teaching on all levels in the school system. - The history competition
- On the 21st of May 2008 Swedish Eustory launched their first history competition on the subject of “Sweden during World War II” with a small ceremony at Högskolan Kristianstad. In this first competition we received 30 contributions from 68 students from places all over Sweden.
- Requirements
- The competition is open to pupils of upper secondary school who have completed the studies of History A. During the competition period the history project could be a part of studies in history B or C. The participants can work on this project individually or in a small group with the help of one or two tutors. The competition entry should be in written form and could be illustrated with photos, pictures or maps.
- Jury
- The
jury is composed of experts in the subject of history and they have to
review the competition entries according to certain guidelines. The
project should have a clearly defined problem and clearly defined
research methods together with a criticism of the sources. The
competition entry should also be both creative and independent. The
jury’s decision is final.
- Award
- The winners of the competition are invited together with the tutors to Högskolan Kristianstad for the award ceremony. During this ceremony the winners will receive prizes and diplomas. The tutors will also receive a certificate as a proof of their historical and didactical skills together with a membership of the Swedish History Teacher’s Association.
