Between 31 August and 6 September, 17 award winners from 13 national EUSTORY competitions took part in this academy, which was jointly organised with the Norwegian History Association HIFO and fully funded by Institusjonen Fritt Ord, Oslo.
The participants were based at Sommarøy near Tromsø. In visits, excursions, talks and interactive workshops they studied different features of the region in Northern Norway: its historical background, environmental changes and the life of the indigenous people, the Sámi.
